Smile of a Clown 2D Animatic

This was the final board, 2D animatic and story for Smile of a Clown. This is the planning stage, and because the production time was so short the drawings needed to be very quick and sketchy to keep moving on to the next stage. Even with tight deadlines a good storyboard need to communicate the story, mood, keep a good composition, establish the camera moves and cuts, time for the whole film and for each shot, etc. In animation this is your editing stage.

Love Struck 2d Animtic

I did this storyboard under the direction of my classmate Kevin Nguyen for his film Love Struck. There were too many arrows in my opinion but I think they were cut off the final version.

This was the very first idea (thumbnails) for Smile of a Clown. I'm happy for all the changes in the board and story that made it clearer and more entertaining. You can not stay with your very first idea. you always need to polish it.
